The holiday season is fast approaching, and with it comes one of New York Iota’s most beloved and enduring traditions—Tree Trot, which celebrates its 25th anniversary next month.
Since 2000, brothers of the New York Iota Chapter have taken part in this unique and meaningful event. Each year, members run a Christmas tree 45 miles on foot, relay style, from the SUNY Fredonia campus all the way to Buffalo. Upon arrival, the tree is donated to a family in need in the Buffalo area, bringing holiday cheer to those who may otherwise go without.
Tree Trot is more than just a remarkable physical challenge—it’s a demonstration of service, brotherhood, and commitment to making a positive impact. Over the past 25 years, the event has raised thousands of dollars for various causes and brightened up the lives of many.
All funds raised support Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, SigEp’s national philanthropy partner. Every donation, no matter the size, helps us continue this legacy of giving. The link to donate can be found below.
This year’s Tree Trot will take place on Saturday, December 13th. As we celebrate 25 years of this tradition, we invite all brothers, alumni, friends, and supporters to join us in making this milestone event the most impactful one yet.
