
The New York Iota Chapter is excited to announce the appointment of Sean Murphy as our Alumni and Volunteer Corporation (AVC) President. Murphy’s ascension to this prominent role marks a significant milestone in his ongoing commitment to the fraternity, following a tenure as Chapter Counselor from 2022 to 2024, and a previous term from 2017-2019.
Following his first tenure, Murphy relocated to Tampa, Florida, but his connection to the chapter remained strong. His return to the New York Iota Chapter in 2022 as Chapter Counselor was marked by renewed energy and a focus on addressing the evolving needs of the chapter. His leadership during this period included strategic planning and initiatives aimed at revitalizing the chapter, ensuring it remained vibrant and aligned with SigEp’s core principles.
The new role as AVC President will see him overseeing the chapter’s alumni and volunteer activities. The AVC is critical in supporting the chapter’s financial health, strategic direction, and alumni engagement. With his extensive experience and deep understanding of the chapter’s history and needs, Murphy is hopeful to drive continued growth and success.
One of Sean’s key achievements during his second term as Chapter Counselor was his emphasis on strengthening alumni relations and building a robust support network. Sean graduated from Fredonia in 2016 with a degree in Communications with a concentration in Audio/Radio Production, after college he has worked in live event production and in the radio/television broadcast industry both in production and on the analytical/advertising side.
