The NY Iota Chapter is preparing to host its 24th annual “Tree Trot” on December 14th, a meaningful event that combines physical endurance with holiday cheer and philanthropy. In this unique tradition, the fraternity brothers will relay a Christmas tree over a 42-mile journey from the Fredonia campus to Buffalo, NY. Upon arrival, the tree will be donated to a family in need in the Buffalo area, bringing joy and warmth to their holiday season.
More than just a physical feat, the Tree Trot also serves a philanthropic purpose, as all funds raised through the event will go directly to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Sigma Phi Epsilon’s national charity partner. This annual effort reflects the chapter’s commitment to service, community involvement, and support for underprivileged youth.
The brothers of NY Iota are excited to keep this tradition alive and look forward to making a difference once again. With the support of alumni, community members, and generous donors, they hope to raise significant funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America while spreading holiday spirit along the way.
