New York Iota is proud to congratulate Alumni and Volunteer Corporation (AVC) member Matt O’Donnell on being named the 2025 Outstanding New Volunteer Award recipient for New York District 2 by our national headquarters. This honor recognizes exceptional dedication, leadership, and impact by new volunteers—and Matt’s recognition marks the third consecutive year that a member of our AVC Board has earned national recognition.
Matt currently serves as our Mentor of Recruitment, a role in which his professional expertise and thoughtful guidance have made an immediate and lasting impact. His insight and mentorship played a key role in supporting what became one of our strongest fall recruitment periods in recent memory, helping to advance the chapter while reinforcing Sigma Phi Epsilon’s values and standards.
A 2010 graduate of Canisius University, Matt is a proud alumnus of the New York Lambda Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon. He later earned a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Denver. Professionally, Matt works in the recruiting industry and currently serves as Director of Talent Strategy and Operations at Randall Reilly. He resides in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.
Before joining the New York Iota AVC Board, Matt volunteered with SigEp chapters in Colorado, bringing experience and a deep passion for fraternity mentorship wherever he serves. His passion for SigEp made him a natural fit for our board, and we were excited to welcome him as our Recruitment Mentor.
Volunteers like Matt help move our chapter forward. We are especially proud to be the only Greek organization on the Fredonia campus with a dedicated volunteer board.
Our chapter is always looking for alumni and friends who are interested in giving back. If you’re interested in volunteering, click the link below and select New York Iota.
